This tee shirt is inspired by the famous (with graphic designers) Globe Posters in Baltimore. Our founder and chief creative officer, lived on the dangerous streets of Baltimore in the 1980s. Richard ripped down many of these posters in his time there to save and hang on his wall. He made this as an homage to those amazing designs
Globe Posters was a Baltimore-based poster company specializing in show posters for African American performers in jazz, rhythm and blues, and gospel music. They were known for bold, hand-drawn typography and graphics, often featuring performers and musical instruments. Using split fountain and letterpress printing, Globe posters were eye-catching and high-quality. Despite being made on tight deadlines with limited resources, they were admired for their creativity and are now highly sought after by collectors.
